#NoisePollution: Warsaw Village Band

Screeching sirens and crowds roaring, hammer and sickle becomes hammer and chisel as the wall comes tumbling down. The fall of communism in the eastern bloc set the stage for a new era in music – the old came home to greet the new, and in Warsaw, the melodies of Poland’s traditional folk laden roots grew into the sprawling expansion of capitalist modernity.

Holding steadfast to Poland’s musical roots, Warsaw Village Band combine traditional folk music with modern elements to create a lasting and provocative sound in an attempt to reunite the youth with Poland’s fading cultural identity since the spread of globalist capitalism, mass culture and narrow minded ambition following the disintegration of the Warsaw Pact…
